THE STRICT PONYTAIL

For me, the ultimate hair statement for autumn is the ponytail. It’s a style that allows women to show strength and femininity in a way that isn’t too pretty. Ponytails can have many connotations but this season is about moving away from the classically feminine styles we saw for spring and creating something slick, severe and very empowering.
Sweeping back hair opens up the face. It’s a look that really appeals to me because it’s edgy but still wearable, proving that when you use the right products, you can give yourself a whole new look in seconds.
Hair this season isn’t about looking too ‘done’. Having the slicked-back texture on top creates a just-out-of-the-shower effortlessness. Wetting the hair in this way is also a good way of bringing unmanageable hair under control.
To get the look, comb a wet-look get into the roots of a dry hair, leaving the ends from the nape downwards dry. For a relaxed feel, rub a small amount of hair oil between your fingerstips and use them to push your hair off the face, leaving a bumpy, undone texture.
